Review the complete wetted path
The vessel fitting, adapter, seal and sensor together define the process interface. Recesses, gaps or an incompatible seal can create retention points. Request a section drawing showing where the process seal sits and how the sensing tip enters the product space.
Read the conditions behind approvals
The supplied Baumer reference ties hygienic claims to particular options and matching accessories. A certificate for one configuration must not be generalized to another thread, adapter or material. The current document should identify the applicable product and installation conditions.
Material-contact documentation and hygienic design approval address different questions. Retain both where required by the application.
Include the cleaning process
Specify cleaning chemistry, concentration, temperature, pressure and duration, plus any sterilization step. Check whether the assembly can drain and whether service work can be performed without damaging sealing surfaces. After installation, acceptance should include the plant’s cleaning and inspection requirements rather than only an electrical switching check.
What to confirm for your application
- Exact sensor and adapter codes
- Seal material and location
- Current hygienic documentation
- Cleaning and sterilization conditions
- Drainability and inspection access
