Selection overview
| Item | What to confirm |
|---|---|
| Trigger | Review Window and Adaptive Trigger availability for the selected version. |
| Integration | Confirm switching outputs, IO-Link and any analog option. |
| Analog meaning | A medium-response signal is not automatically liquid height. |
| Commissioning | Record approved thresholds, device identity and parameter backup. |
Build an application-specific specification
Start with a matrix of all recipes, production temperatures and cleaning states. Determine whether the control system needs a simple presence signal or differentiated process information. A feature used for medium differentiation requires adequate separation between the actual process responses.
Technical reference and scope
Baumer describes additional analog information for medium differentiation and cleaning-process evaluation. Treat the transfer function and scaling as device-specific. Do not label a 4–20 mA medium-response output as 0–100% tank level.
Complete the package
Confirm the sensor, process adapter, seal, cable and any interface or programming accessories in one bill of materials. Ask for the current dimensional drawing and the exact documents needed for your plant. Accessories and approvals are not automatically included.
Before an order is released
- Confirm the complete manufacturer order code, not only the family name.
- Verify medium compatibility and simultaneous operating limits.
- Agree on the output behavior and commissioning record.
- Identify the required material, hygiene or hazardous-area documentation.
