Review the assembled interface
Check the connector type, pin count, coupling, cable jacket and sealing requirements. A loose, mismatched or damaged mating connector can compromise the installation. Follow the exact product instructions for assembly and strain relief.
The supplied LBFS reference links IP69K capability to appropriate cable arrangements. It should not be advertised as unconditional protection for any M12 lead.
Cleaning chemistry also matters
Water ingress protection does not establish resistance to every cleaning chemical or mechanical cleaning method. Consider the cable jacket, connector seal and exposure to hot cleaning solutions. Route cables to avoid abrasion, tension and collection points for liquid.
Inspect after maintenance
Connector work can introduce damage or leave a coupling improperly fitted. Include inspection in the return-to-service procedure and verify the electrical state after reconnecting. If water ingress is suspected, isolate the equipment through the plant procedure before inspection; do not treat intermittent operation as normal sensor behavior.
What to confirm for your application
- Exact mating connector and cable code
- Installed IP rating and conditions
- Cleaning temperature and chemistry
- Strain relief and cable routing
- Condition after maintenance
