Compare the complete application
A vibrating element changes its behavior when covered by material. An electronic point switch evaluates the electrical response near the tip. Neither should be selected from a generic claim that one technology handles every medium. The chosen model has its own limits for process conditions and product behavior.
Where the geometry matters
A fork projects into the process and needs clearance around its tines. A shorter tip may fit a small pipe or a compact vessel more easily. Compare the actual installation drawings, not only the thread size. A recessed electronic tip can retain material in a nozzle and undermine the benefit of a compact design.
For sticky media, compare the way deposits form and drain around each geometry. Test after repeated cycles rather than immediately after cleaning.
Respect existing qualification
A fork already approved for a particular safety or hygienic function should not be replaced solely on price. Confirm required certificates, diagnostics and proof-test provisions for the proposed device. The comparison is strongest when both candidates are tested against the same medium, operating envelope and acceptance criteria.
What to confirm for your application
- Minimum clearance and intrusion
- Relevant density or viscosity limits
- Buildup and cleaning behavior
- Output compatibility
- Required approvals for the actual function
