Define the medium completely
Provide the product formulation or relevant chemical constituents, including cleaning products. Concentration and temperature can affect both material compatibility and sensing behavior. Detergents may create persistent foam or film that remains after a vessel appears empty.
Review all process-contact parts
Check the sensing tip, metal body, seals and adapters. Different materials can respond differently to the same exposure. If a non-standard material is proposed, request the actual construction and supporting compatibility review rather than assuming an optional material solves every issue.
For flammable products or classified areas, identify the required approved configuration separately. A chemical-compatible sensor is not automatically suitable for a hazardous location.
Test the difficult empty state
Observe the tip after draining and after a realistic idle period. Include dilution, concentration changes and foam. If residue causes ambiguous switching, consider a better-draining location or another sensing method. The acceptance test should reflect the process that operators actually run.
What to confirm for your application
- Chemistry, concentration and contaminants
- Normal and cleaning temperatures
- Foam, film and crystallization
- All wetted materials
- Hazardous-area requirements if applicable
