Identify the duty and the stream
A clean-water day tank, chemical dosing vessel and sludge line present different conditions. Define whether the sensor provides a refill signal, high-level alarm, pump permissive or empty-pipe indication. Include any suspended solids and likely fouling.
Make the installation serviceable
Provide access for inspection and cleaning. Review whether the selected port collects sediment or traps liquid after draining. The cable and connector must suit outdoor exposure or washdown where relevant.
Do not infer potable-water approval from a material name or from use of the same product family in another application. Request the documentation required for the destination and duty.
Consider operating variability
Water composition, chemical concentration and temperature may vary through the treatment process. Test the states that matter to the control task, including any coating that develops over time. Where continuous tank inventory is required, keep an appropriate continuous instrument and use point detection for its defined role.
What to confirm for your application
- Actual stream and suspended solids
- Dosing chemicals and concentration
- Sediment and fouling at the mounting point
- Environmental protection
- Required water-contact documentation
