APPLICATION WORKBENCH

Level sensor engineering tools

Turn operating conditions into a clear application brief. Check units and simple timing assumptions before discussing a sensor.

Planning aids with stated assumptions. They do not size a certified safety system or approve a sensor.

01 / UNIT CHECK

Pressure & liquid head

Convert gauge pressure units, then calculate equivalent static liquid head using h = Δp / (ρg), g = 9.80665 m/s².

Head assumes a static fluid of uniform density and the correct differential-pressure reference. It is not a point-switch measurement.

02 / TIMING CHECK

Volume available after switching

For a constant withdrawal rate and no refill: available time = usable buffer volume ÷ flow. Compare it with the complete response delay.

Include sensor delay, PLC processing and final stopping time. Volume starts at the actual trip point and ends at the minimum acceptable process condition. Positive margin alone does not establish safe operation.

03 / APPLICATION BRIEF

A useful specification starts here.

Describe the actual process and generate a plain-text brief. You can download it, print it or carry it into your inquiry.

  • Operating and cleaning conditions
  • Mechanical and electrical interfaces
  • Required test states and documents

What a representative test record includes

Record the exact sensor, settings, mounting, medium batch and temperature. Observe the clean dry, covered, drained-residue and cleaning states. Add foam, product changes and controlled startup/fault checks where relevant.
